Los Cristianos started off as a small quaint finishing village, and lies between Gauza mountain and Chayofita mountain which splits Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Americas. As Tenerife became more popular in the 70´s & 80´s with droves of tourist form many European countries visiting the Island, Los Cristianos began to expand rapidly. Changing from that small quaint fishing village, Los Cristianos became a popular holiday resort. Although Los Cristianos is more known as a tourist destination, there are still references to its beginning with old architectural buildings and small fishing boats, still supplying the numerous restaurants with fresh produce.

Los Cristianos is centred round its harbour and beautiful beaches, and has a labyrinth of pedestrian streets offering shops, bars and great restaurants offering all kinds of cuisine. The harbour which once started off as the small fishing port (small fishing boats can still be seen) now offers a ferry crossing to one of the neighbouring Islands La Gomera and has numerous excursions from deep sea fishing to whales & dolphin spotting and much more…

Los Cristianos has 2 beautiful beaches, Playa de Los Cristianos which located in the cove of the harbour and offers many water activities and has regular local competitions of beach Volley ball & beach football. On the other side of the harbour you have Playa Las Vistas which can be recognised by the fountain half way along on a point of rocks.

As Los Cristianos became more popular with tourists, the port town began to expand to accommodate visitors and workers alike. Making way, for a huge development over the following years, with construction of hotels and apartments. The properties for sale in Los Cristianos are mainly apartments. There are a few independent house´s which can be found on the out-scurts and to the far end of Los Cristianos. Property prices in Los Cristianos vary from € 60,000 for a studio apartment up to € 1,500,000 plus for a front line Villa.
