Apartments for sale in Los Cristianos

Tourism started to take off in Tenerife in the late 1970´s and early 1980,s. Then Los Cristianos was a small and very quiet fishing village in the distance and a bus ride away from the popular resort of Playa de Las Americas where most British tourists stayed. People soon realised the charm of Los Cristianos and wanted to stay there for the whole of their holiday. Developers decided to build apartments in Los Cristianos. Investors decided that this was a great resort to invest and in 1984 Paloma Beach was constructed at the far end of Los Cristianos, next to the Arona Grand hotel. Because Paloma Beach was constructed with a touristic licence, it made it very attractive. It would encourage people to buy a property in Tenerife and gain a good rental return on their investment. Holiday rentals were allowed and for people who preferred self catering holidays it was a great opportunity. Other complexes followed, such as Victoria Court, San Marino, Cristian Sur and Royal Palm. Complexes sold quickly “off plan” from the developer as people, especially holiday makers could see the great benefits of owning a property in Tenerife and buying an apartment in Los Cristianos. It was at this time that other complexes were constructed in Los Cristianos that were residential, Port Royale, at the very top was one of the very first. Apartments for sale in Port Royale would have a great panoramic sea views, but you would need a taxi at the end of the day to get back to your property.

Construction of more and more complexes followed around and beyond the centre of Los Cristianos. San Marino and Cristian sur, just above the very centre, Parque Margarita and development stretching towards the far end towards the hotel Arona Grand. In Playa de Las Americas construction was just the same and the towns would eventually meet. Parque Santiago i and Parque Santiago ii was up and sold out but there was a great gap between here and Los Cristianos. At the Playa de Las Americas end, Parque Santiago iii then Parque Santiago iv, v and then Compostella beach would soon be under way. Then El Paso, La Punta and eventually Azahara and Veramar and at this point the 2 great resorts would almost meet. Today it is hard to identify which resort you are in as the 2 popular resorts easily flow together along the lovely promenade.

People are still coming in great numbers to Los Cristianos and this is now the first choice for a family holiday or holiday home, residential home or even a retirement home. More construction has taken place in recent years and more is due to follow in 2015 now that the recession and credit crisis is more or less at an end. Somada de los Eres which was started in spring 2015 being a prime example of the continued popularity of Los Cristianos.

We have many properties in Los Cristianos to choose from. Granada Park, Ocean Golf are great resorts (with a tourist licence) Playa Graciosa, Parque Tropical and El Rincon are usually bigger apartments and are all residential. One thing for sure is that the popularity of Los Cristianos, which started around 40 years ago has not waivered and it keeps going from strength to strength. Buying houses and apartments in Los Cristianos was, and still is a very sound investment.
