About Tenerife Property Emporium
Lee Morfitt, Director of Morfitt Properties Tenerife and Tenerife Property Emporium, first visited Tenerife for a holiday in the summer 1985. This was at a time when there was relatively little infrastructure. “There were just a few hotels, restaurants and bars in the south and not an awful lot to do for the British residents who were buying Tenerife Properties” I decided it wasn’t the place for me.”
Later, in search of a holiday home in the sun, he returned on the advice of a friend. “Tenerife had really changed beyond recognition and there were lots to see and do. There was also the proximity to the UK and the excellent schools – an important consideration for a young family.”
A little later, Lee and his family, Karen, Amy & Emily left their home in Derbyshire, England for a new home in the Tenerife sun, buying a property in Playa del Duque, Costa Adeje. In 2003 he joined what was then the largest independent Estate Agent in Tenerife, Horizon Property Group with 7 offices throughout the Canary Islands and Marbella.
After working with David Woods at Horizon Property Group for the following year and buoyed by his own success, he formed the partnership of Crossly, Morfitt and Lennox, a meeting of some of the most knowledgeable minds in the Tenerife property market.
Then, after many successful years, Lee decided that it was time to take selling property in Tenerife to the next level and to promote his own ideas in Tenerife property sales, and opened Morfitt Properties Tenerife.
Paul Connolly Joined Lee in 2012 after working as an Estate Agent in Tenerife from 2006 with an Estate Agents in Los Cristianos. Unfortunately this was as the market was beginning to downturn after the boom years of the late 1990,s and early 2000,s. After several years he moved to the Belgium Estate Agent ( Find a Home ) again in Los Cristianos. At this stage the market was beginning to move a little better and what was the majority of English buyers was now giving way to Belgian, Russian, French and Italian clients wanting to buy a property in Tenerife. Paul’s stayed with Find a Home until the owners suddenly decided to return to Belgium and closed their doors in 2012. It was just at this time that Morfitt Properties Tenerife were looking to expand and Paul joined forces and became a partner with Lee Morfitt. Very soon after they launched Tenerife Property Emporium.
Morfitt Properties Tenerife & Tenerife Property Emporium has quickly established itself as one of the top English Estate Agents in Tenerife, adapting to the changing landscape of the property industry worldwide during this economic downturn.
The ability to ‘change with these difficult times’ is what identifies Tenerife Property Emporium from the many other Tenerife Estate Agents struggling to adapt their business according to the changing market. This has resulted in many closing down, disappearing and even returning to their home country.
The industry may be in bleaker times than in the late 1990,s, but this team, working with many collaborating agents from as far afield as Italy and Russia means things are looking up for those looking to sell or buy property in Tenerife. I really believe that we have seen the worst now. We have seen a big increase in people wanting to buy a property in Tenerife at the right price.
Lee and Paul are excited at the prospect of the upturn in the property market. “When the lower priced properties start to move, people gain in confidence and then the chain of sales begin. Here in Tenerife we attract clients throughout Europe where it is wet and cold. They want top buy a property which is in a great climate with great infrastructure that is not a day’s flight to get there. Tenerife, a great place to buy a property!
